Customer Care / Receptionist

City Vets, Waterford

Part-Time | 24 Hours per Week

Salary: €29,432 FTE

Closing Date: 22nd July 2026

City Vets in Waterford is looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Customer Care / Receptionist to join our busy small animal practice reception team.

Located right in the heart of Waterford city, recently crowned one of Ireland’s best places to live, you'll be joining a welcoming and supportive team of four veterinary surgeons, four veterinary nurses and a fellow receptionist who are all committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a key role in creating a warm and professional experience for every visitor. This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same.

The role includes welcoming clients and their pets, answering telephone and email enquiries, booking and managing appointments using our Merlin practice management system, processing payments and end-of-day cash procedures, maintaining stock levels, assisting with deliveries, supporting general administration, maintaining high standards throughout the practice, and developing product knowledge to confidently assist clients with their queries.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, remains calm under pressure and thrives in a busy environment. Previous reception, customer service and administrative experience is essential, and experience working within a veterinary practice or with animals would be a distinct advantage. Strong computer skills, excellent communication, attention to detail and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service are key to success in this role.

Working Pattern

This is a part-time position working three days per week, Monday to Wednesday 9:00am-6:00pm, with no weekend work and no out-of-hours requirements.

At City Vets, we are a progressive small animal veterinary practice with a loyal and dedicated client base. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding patient care while fostering a workplace built on teamwork, respect and kindness. If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to both clients and colleagues, we'd love to hear from you.
