We are seeking an Imaging Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Hamilton Specialist Referrals and play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and high-quality imaging studies.

Hamilton Specialist Referrals is a purpose built state-of-the-art veterinary hospital which provides the latest in cutting edge, specialist treatments for cats and dogs, supported by an exceptional rehabilitation and physiotherapy facility. Our Imaging Service delivers advanced diagnostic support using ultrasound, CT and MRI, working collaboratively with multiple clinical disciplines across the hospital. 

You will work closely with hospital clinicians and nursing colleagues to prepare and support patients undergoing imaging procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent standards of care throughout the imaging process. You will also contribute to maintaining our imaging suites and equipment to the highest standard, within a culture built on teamwork, communication and clinical excellence. A key aspect of the role includes maintaining and applying core nursing skills, in particular monitoring patients under sedation and general anesthesia for procedures. 

As part of our imaging team, your general duties will include:

*Capturing high-quality diagnostic image studies across CT, MRI, radiography and fluoroscopy
*Assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including contrast studies and interventional imaging services
*Preparing and supporting patients before, during and after imaging procedures
*Assisting with the day-to-day running of the imaging service
*Maintaining imaging suites and equipment to the highest professional and safety standards
*Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary referral team
*Preparing, monitoring and recovering patients undergoing sedation and general anaesthesia for procedures.

Who we are looking for...

*Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a strong interest in diagnostic imaging
*Experience in image acquisition and in a referral practice is an advantage but full training will be provided
*Able to demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and practical competence
*Strong commitment to clinical excellence, professionalism and ethical practice
*A clear focus on animal welfare and delivering the highest standard of patient care
*Positive, confident and team-oriented, with excellent communication skills

Working Pattern

A full time position covers 40 hours per week over 5 days (shifts are 7hrs 30mins plus a break). We also have a 1:4 weekend on-call rota for emergencies.
