Unlock Your Passions at Crown Vets:

Inverness is a city with good shopping, cafes, live music venues, restaurants and bars. We have a theatre (Eden Court) which hosts musicals, plays, ballet and numerous special events such as outdoor music events during the Summer. The Highlands are certainly the place to be for those with a passion for the outdoors - the scenery is second to none and there is endless opportunity for walking, wild swimming, camping and paddle boarding! There are lots to do for families and children of all ages - Inverness is very child friendly with an array of festivals and events catered for families. There is a leisure centre and pool with waterslides, ice skating rink, many parks and petting farms. Many of the primary and high schools in the area have very good reputations and ranking in Scotland. Inverness is well connected to the rest of the UK and further afield. It has a train station with lines east to Aberdeen, south to Perth and north to Thurso. There is also an airport with flights to London, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast and Amsterdam for onward international travel.

We have a friendly and supportive team of 12 Vets, 12 Nurses and excellent support and administration teams. Within the team, we have a medicine certificate holder and one of our team is working towards a dental certificate. We also have a referral surgeon, chronic pain specialist, specialist dermatologist, and a medicine certificate holder at our linked referral practice for any support and advice you may require.

Our practice is well-equipped to handle a wide range of veterinary diagnostics and treatments. We have dental x-ray, endoscopy, direct digital x-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house lab for various tests like haematology, biochemistry, and in-depth urinalysis. Access to a CT scanner through our referral practice adds another layer of advanced diagnostic capability.

Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

You will work 40 hours per week. Hours of opening are between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 6pm on Friday and 8am to 4pm on a Saturday. We have our main site and two branch practices where you will be able to gain experience of sole charge work with support initially by your coach on site, and as you develop more experience, the end of the phone. Our OOH is managed by Highland Vet Emergencies; you will join the team there to increase your skill base in emergency case management.

Our graduates are assigned a clinical coach for mentorship and guidance, but support extends beyond just the coach involving the whole team to help the new vets develop their skills and confidence. This team-based approach ensures that graduate's benefit from a wide range of expertise, fostering a collaborative learning environment. The large team means there is always someone nearby to offer support, discuss cases with and learn from. We believe in good clinical discussions, have daily ward rounds and regular Vet meetings. A friendly team provides collaborative and supportive approach. Our vets and nurses all have different interests and enthusiasms.
