Role description:
As a Research Engineer Intern in BioAI, you will be part of a team of Research Engineers, Computational Biologists and Geneticists, collaborating with BioNTech to research and apply machine learning solutions to fundamental challenges in delivering personalised immunotherapies against cancer. You will follow the latest developments in Deep learning, Structural Biology and Genomics, to identify and harness the approaches best suited to your project, and leverage your technical, analytical, and research skills to develop and improve cutting edge solutions.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the efforts of the BioAI team through the development of novel methods and applications under the guidance of our Research Engineers.
- Design and implement ML methods for proof of concept and benchmarking.
- Contribute to team research and publications.
- Report and present experimental results and research findings, both internally and externally, verbally and in writing.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, well-documented, and modular python code.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Masters programme in a related STEM discipline, and in the last year of studies.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge in machine learning and deep learning, including experience with a deep learning framework such as Jax, PyTorch and/or Tensorflow.
- Familiarity working with data (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, …).
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit.
- Good programming skills in Python.
