The Practice Lead for Infrastructure, Security and Modern Work is a management role with both technical and business responsibilities. The role reports directly to the Head of Practice and works collaboratively with other practice leads. The Practice Lead is also responsible for leading their consulting team, ensuring progressive good practice, providing consulting guidance and governance, team management and engagement, and high utilisation rates

What skills and working characteristics should this person have?

    • Experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or Business Applications consulting
    • Business Value: The ability to convey the business need and value of proposed solutions, plans, and risks to stakeholders and decision makers. This includes the ability to persuade and inform based on facts and alignment with goals and strategy
    • Trusted Advisership: The ability to build trusted advisor status and deep relationships across stakeholders (e.g., technical decision makers, business decision makers) through an understanding of customer needs and technologies.
    • Situational fluency: Using self-awareness as a mechanism to interpret verbal and non-verbal cues to increase your ability to "read the room."

As a Practice Lead you’ll be responsible for:

    • Cultivate Excellence: Foster a culture of high performance and excellence. Engage and motivate employees, facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing across practices,
    • Guidance and Growth: Mentor and coach team members for their ongoing career development and provide guidance/supervision from both a practice and consultative perspective,
    • Ensure the optimal ‘Productive’ utilisation of the consulting resources in the team by providing suitably skilled consultants to the Project Managers to deliver client projects to a high standard,
    • Architect and deliver Infrastructure, Security and Modern Work solutions in line with Quality Standards and client needs, ensuring good value for money,
    • Support the activities of the presales team in estimating effort, and engaging in presales activities and peer reviews,
    • Create a reliable feedback loop to constantly improve the reliability of estimates,
    • Ensure consulting provided by Infinity meet Microsoft’s expected standards,

Person Specification:

    • Broad understanding of cloud technologies (complete M365 stack - EoL, SP, Teams, InTune, Purview etc..)
    • Strong product knowledge of Infrastructure, Security and Modern Work solutions offered by Infinity and of the M365 platform on our solutions are based. 
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain credibility with stakeholders (including clients, delivery partners and internally within the business), excellent influencing skills to build and drive process improvement.
    • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders within the organization and in the client’s organization and to serve as an expert representing Infinity’s delivery capabilities.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership and team-building skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality and listen to ideas and understand the information presented verbally or in writing.
    • Understanding and experience of performance monitoring and reporting on impact of activities

Technical Qualifications & Experience

    • Expert and hands on level understanding of the Microsoft 365 technology portfolio
    • M365 & Azure architecture and capabilities
    • Best practice set up and implementation approach
    • Enterprise & Business Licensing
    • Holds appropriate, Expert-level certifications with Microsoft
    • Working knowledge of the security technology landscape for the purposes of technology comparison and positioning Microsoft security products
    • Working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance landscape, particularly standards such as Cyber Essentials and ISO:27001
    • Strong knowledge, understanding and experience of network architecture (Firewalling, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VLAN etc.), Cisco experience in particular would be an advantage
    • Expert and hands on level understanding of server and storage infrastructure and architecture
    • Virtualisation technologies, including high-availability clustering (Hyper-V, VMware)
    • SAN solutions (Compellent/PowerVault)
    • Backup and disaster recovery (planning, implementation, testing and documentation)
    • Understanding and experience of Unified Communications in Microsoft Teams
£80,000 - £90,000 a year
