Role Overview:
The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial reporting and decision-making processes within the organization. This position involves the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policy. The Management Accountant will work closely with the finance team and wider business to provide insightful financial information that drives strategic business decisions.

As a Management Accountant, you’ll be responsible for:

    • Prepare monthly company management accounts, management reports and KPI dashboards, including balance sheets, profit and loss, and cash flow statements
    • Prepare monthly departmental management accounts and KPI dashboards.
    • Analyse performance variances and provide explanations and recommendations.
    • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
    • Assist in year-end preparation and support external audits.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
    • Help develop and monitor budgets and forecasts to align with organisational goals.
    • Support revenue, sales pipeline, and cost forecasting.
    • Analyse revenue and costs to find opportunities and efficiencies.
    • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested
    • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance team, finance processes and wider organisation

What skills/Qualifications should this person have?

    • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA).
    • Proven experience in a management accountant role, preferably within an SME.
    • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business challenges.
    • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel, systems such as Business Central and Workspace 365.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in a SaaS business, selling both professional services and software (preferred)

£45,000 - £55,000 a year
