🚀 Your role:
As a Business Automation Engineer at grape, you will play a crucial role in automating workflows, optimizing processes, and building internal tools that enable our teams to work more efficiently and effectively. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Operations, People, Sales, Claims Management, Finance & Risk and other teams, to identify areas for improvement, and implement automation solutions across the organization. Your work will directly impact the scalability and success of our team. The primary role is to ensure that technology systems and tools are aligned with the business objectives and operational requirements.
🔍 What you’ll do:
- Design, build, deploy and maintain scalable short and long-term technical solutions tailored to meet operational business requirements.
- Create and maintain postgresQL databases, and develop workflows, scripts, automations, forms and tools to improve the operational efficiency of our teams.
- Support in developing our internal technical processes and diagram data flows.
- Provide technical support for business operations, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
- Support with the technical implementation of automation tools to improve the speed and accuracy
- Collaboration
- Work with the engineering team to understand long-term plans and ensure alignment between the timeline for the development of internal tools, and critical business processes.
- Work together with business operations to identify & execute on priority projects that enhance business efficiency through automation.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms, graphs and process diagrams for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication and strengthening the team's understanding of our workflows and automations.
🛠️ What you’ll need:
- Demonstrated experience in automation engineering, software development, or a similar role, preferably in a fast-growing startup environment.
- Proficiency in scripting (AppScript) and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar.
- Experience with databases (PostgresQL) and data analysis tools.
- Previous experience with low-code and no-code tools (Zapier, Make, Retool etc.)
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Strong problem solving and project management skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn about new technologies.
- Language: Proficient in English (German or French is a bonus)
