Purpose of the roles
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lighting Artist to join Frontiers internal cinematics team. You will work with our cinematics artists to create environment spaces which match up to our aesthetic requirements and deliver across a wide array of environment types, from interior to exterior, lush jungles to Sci-fi corridors.
 
This is a unique opportunity for a driven and passionate individual to make their mark on a new team, working with the very latest in cinematic tools and workflows across our outstanding portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities

    • Design environment and lighting spaces taking direction from Cinematic and Art leads.
    • Where necessary, work under your own direction to create environment spaces that serve the needs of our cinematic compositions.
    • Set-dress scenes with provided props and assets across a wide array of styles and eras, both exterior and interior.
    • Carry out your work with a strong focus on storytelling and cinematography.
    • Use your expertise and experience to advise improvements to workflows.

    • Ability to work and communicate effectively within a holistic team dynamic.
    • Comfortable taking feedback and revision notes.
    • Technical Skill
    • Demonstrable ability to visualise entire level spaces in detail with minimal direction inside Unreal Engine.
    • Strong understanding of composition, shape language and colour theory.
    • Thorough hands on experience with Unreal Engines lighting tools.
    • Experience with Unreal Engines landscaping and foliage tools.
    • Good working knowledge of materials, shaders and PBR techniques.
    • Ability to identify potential obstacles and risks in your workflows and propose creative solutions

    • Desirable
    • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine Blueprint.
    • Strong arts or photography background.
    • Experience working in the animation/film/games industry.
    • Keen interest in story, narrative and character development.
