Are you our Sales Engineer? 

Forecast has grown quickly and so have the capabilities of our product. As we scale upmarket to larger customers with more complex structures, we need to be able to tailor our product conversations in the sales process to best align features to value throughout that cycle. Our very first sales engineer will be a hugely important role and influencer within the business in 2022 and beyond. 

We’re looking for an ambitious, inquisitive and detail-oriented individual looking to help in the selling of our SaaS project and resource management platform. Reporting into our Director Revenue Operations, you will partner with our Sales team as a technical resource while engaging with prospective clients. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding potential customers’ technical needs and translating how our platform offerings could be a fit. You will be proficient in the technical aspects of our platform and advise on and design solutions for potential customers.

What you'll do

    • Develop and maintain expertise in feature functionality and practical application of all our product offerings
    • Help potential customers across varying industries to understand and evaluate the technical capabilities of our products, leading evaluation cycles to gain product fit consensus
    • Understand and interpret prospective customer requirements, delivering customised product demonstrations to match customer needs
    • Design, validate and document technical solutions to share with prospective customers
    • Collect, analyse and communicate feedback on prospective customers’ business challenges to influence marketing strategy and roadmap. Close collaboration with product marketing and product management teams in order to meet our internal business objectives is essential
    • Participate in RFI/RFP process and respond to technical assessments
    • Create a scalable approach to the sales engineer role – at the start there will be only one of you so you’ll need to educate, delegate or refuse in order to ensure you focus your time effectively

What you'll ideally have

    • 2+ years’ professional experience working in a pre-sales, sales engineering, correlated consulting role within SaaS
    • Experience fully understanding technology platform capabilities
    • Experience representing technical concepts to an audience of varying technical understanding
    • Excellent verbal, written communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to build relationships with potential customers, understand their environment, and introduce new concepts to solve problems
    • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities
    • Comfort with a fluid, fast-paced environmentA passion for problem solving and roll up your sleeves demeanor
