Are you our Legal Counsel?

As our Legal Counsel, this is a newly created role, where you’ll play an integral role in building the legal function that will help to enable strategic initiatives and revenue streams.  You will partner with business stakeholders to provide legal support and advice. You will report to the Chief Legal Officer (ex-Peakon GC, $700m exit) and be responsible for supporting the go to market function, as well as supporting all other super-interesting legal projects across the entire business.

This is an amazing opportunity for an outstanding commercial lawyer looking to further their career in a high growth, people-oriented and disruptive SaaS business.

What you’ll do

    • Supporting the global Sales team on major deals for customers
    • Independent handling of contracts negotiation and drafting
    • Help to design and implement legal process
    • Respond to ad hoc legal queries from the business, providing appropriate legal solutions
    • Help to develop and ensure compliance with business practices, policies, and procedures
    • Develop and deliver legal and compliance training across various teams in the organisation
    • Over time, help to supervise junior members of the Legal team
    • Collaborate with other business teams on cross-functional projectsBe a business partner to the rest of the business

What you’ll have

    • You must be a UK-qualified solicitor (2-4+ PQE)
    • In-house technology experience or in-house secondment (commercial) preferred
    • Demonstrated experience handling a range of legal matters (i.e. SaaS transactions, privacy, intellectual property, and/or mergers and acquisitions)
    • Desire for a broad focus and to learn something new every day (someone who aspires to be a future Head of Legal would suit the role well)
    • Have strong knowledge of the contractual provisions in SaaS agreements
    • Have strong knowledge of the GDPR and privacy laws
    • High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to grow
    • Enjoy working in a fast paced, agile and challenging environment
    • High-level attention to detail, excellent organisational and excellent legal drafting skills
    • Be a business “enabler” working closely with and establishing strong relations with the business stakeholders
    • You love working with commercial contracts
    • Preferably, you have previously worked for a high growth start-up or scale-up technology company
