We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer & Databricks specialist (all genders) to join our Data & Analytics department at flaconi. You will be part of our Data Engineering team of 8 people and play a prominent role in driving the transition to a data lakehouse architecture powered by Databricks. What can you expect in this role? Innovative projects in a cloud environment with a modern tech stack and room for exploring new technologies. In addition, an attractive business setup from e-commerce that includes many (also unstructured) data sources and use cases. Together with the team, you follow the ‘You build it, you run it’ mindset: You participate in the full development process, from design, through implementation and testing, to code reviews and deployment.
Your Role
- You drive the transformation from a classic data warehouse approach to a data Lakehouse on Databricks; ensure that the data platform can scale with the company, handling increasing data volumes while maintaining optimal performance, flexibility and reliability
- To achieve this, you design and maintain the data architecture, including data models, schemas, and integrations
- You build and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable data processing. This includes: supporting the business needs to include new data points or ingest new sources whenever needed, and implementing automation for data pipeline monitoring, error handling, and performance optimization
- You develop and optimize our ETL processes from our various and numerous sources. You implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of the data
- You proactively monitor data infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, ensure proper communication flows to the end users of the data products
- You document processes, procedures, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing.
Your profile
- Several years of experience with the Databricks platform, including proficiency in designing solutions leveraging a diverse assortment of data sources, and a solid understanding of data governance and the Unity Catalog
- Proficiency in Python programming and experience with data processing frameworks - Scala is a plus
- Solid knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with relational databases incuding. data modelling
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms and related services (AWS)
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Good written and verbal English

- Full transparency: For this role, we have a salary band between 75000€ and 95000€ gross per year. The salary that we will offer you will always be within this span and is based on the skills that you show during the recruitment process.
