Your Mission
Fishlabs IT department operates under the premise of IT as a Service; and the IT System Administrator role maintains the company’s end-user working environment, to ensure that all technical aspects are functioning optimally. Providing technical support to end-users and ensures a smooth operational environment to achieve company and project goals.
As well as aiding coordination between IT Teams from sister studios and Munich central office as required to assist joint operations and partnerships.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Providing first and second level IT support to all employees
- Troubleshooting desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues; assisting end-users with hardware/software related issues
- Installing and configuring new computer hardware and software
- Monitoring and maintaining existing computer hardware and software
- Managing IT asset inventory and hardware lifecycle
- Creating and maintaining IT documentation and internal procedures
- Ensuring compliance with company security policies and best practices
- Supporting software deployment and endpoint management solutions
- Repairing, replacing, and/or upgrading computer hardware and equipment as required
- Providing timely technical support across the company
- Managing software licensing and subscription renewals
- Managing user accounts, permissions, and access to company systems
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Supporting printers, meeting room equipment, and office IT infrastructure
Secondary duties supporting the IT Team in general:
- Supporting Microsoft 365 and other business applications
- Assisting with server, storage, and network administration tasks
- Assisting with backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness procedures
- Supporting CI/CD infrastructure, build systems, and developer tools where required
- Assisting with automation initiatives and IT process improvements
- Participating in IT infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshooting source control and build environment issues
- Supporting Docker-based services and Linux virtual machines
- Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive IT tasks and improve operational efficiency
- Taking Inventory, Deploying and Troubleshooting Console Dev/Test Kits
Your Skillset / Qualifications:
- Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and configuring computer hardware and software
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Excellent ability to function in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Knowledge in Linux, specifically Ubuntu Server environments is advantageous
- Some knowledge in Apple Mac OS is a bonus
- General understanding of diverse computer systems and networking
- Aiding in the ability to troubleshoot related issues and function as a key member of an IT Team
- Familiarity with specialized software is a plus, specifically: Perforce, Hansoft, and Jenkins for example
Requirements:
- Formal degree is not required
- Related certifications are advantageous but not required (CompTIA A+)
- Operate with a service mentality and a helpful member of the team
