Who we are and what we do

Farewill began its journey back in 2016 when our two co-founders Dan & Tom got together to create something special. Fast forward 6 years, and what once was two mates is now a team of over 70, and that team is growing.

At Farewill we're on a mission to change the way the world deals with death. For too long this has been an archaic and stressful process that puts traditions and admin over celebrating people's lives. We're changing that by putting people back at the centre of everything we do, and to give our customers those brighter goodbyes.

We'll be growing our team into 2022 and beyond, and to continue our mission we need the best people to join us. So if you're someone who makes smart data-driven decisions, seeks continuous professional development, and has a strong desire to create positive change in a diverse and inclusive workplace, then look no further.

What we think makes for a great Farewillian

Decision makers

We look for people who approach each decision with a well reasoned, data-driven mindset. Speed matters, so with some decisions it’s better to take action than wait for certainty.

Team players

We look for people who can form great working relationships with ease and thrive in diverse and inclusive teams. Those people are kind and compassionate, and when a teammate is down can step up and help.

Active learners

We hire people who actively look for opportunities to gain skills and experience. We’re constantly learning and improving, so being open to feedback is key.

Serious ambition

We think big and aim high. That’s why we hire those who seek out challenges, can quickly adapt to change, and aim to achieve great things.

Last but not least...

We don’t deliver things we wouldn’t offer to our friends and family, and we always put ourselves in our customers’ shoes. That’s why we hire those who strive to deliver an amazing service that puts customers at the heart of what we do.

What we offer in return

At Farewill we offer a genuinely exciting and unique role in a challenging yet highly rewarding industry.

We pride ourselves on having a diverse and inclusive culture, and so provide a workspace for everyone to bring their full and honest selves to work.

We believe in open opportunities for all, and understand that the future of work is changing. Several Farewillians have changed roles during their time with us, so if another position or department catches your eye, we’ll provide you the time and resources to help get you there.

We also believe in open and honest communication across the entire business, and that each Farewillian can have an impact on the changes and decisions we make as a company. That means if you have a great idea for something new, or an idea on how we can improve, we’d love to hear about it and potentially bring it to life.

In addition to this, we also offer:

Share options: Everyone here plays a critical role in the success of the company and so deserves a share in the success. That’s why we offer generous share options in addition to your salary package.

Rituals: Fancy a talk on something? We host weekly sharing sessions where you can talk about a passion of yours, something great that happened recently, or give a live high five to a teammate.

Holidays and compassionate leave: Everyone deserves some R&R, which is why we offer 28 days of annual leave a year, plus the usual public holidays. We've also introduced a new compassionate leave policy that accounts for how grief affects us differently. We place trust in our employees to take the time they need to grieve, when they need it most.

Learning & development: Every Farewillian is entitled to a personal development budget of £1000 and 3 days per year

At Farewill, our mission is to change the way the world deals with death - to make it simple, personal, fairly-priced & accessible to everyone. To do that, we want to build a workplace that’s great for everyone, that celebrates diversity in all its forms, and where everyone who works for us feels like they can be themselves, bring their whole selves to work, and be treated fairly, equitably and respectfully.

We believe flexibility is important, so we’re happy to chat to you about flexible/remote working options. And, If you need any flexibility or adjustments in our interview process - to help set you up for success - then please let us know too.
