The Role:
We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer to take ownership of testing low-level backend systems and lightweight UIs, with a strong focus on automating tests and performance validation. You’ll design and maintain automated test frameworks, ensure system reliability through rigorous testing, and collaborate closely with developers to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about building efficient, scalable automation solutions.
What you'll do
- Functional and Non-functional Testing
- Perform thorough testing to validate edge and cloud-based applications and services' performance, reliability, and usability.
- Execute both functional and non-functional tests to ensure the software meets specified requirements and standards.
- Automation Test Design and Implementation
- Assisting in the design and running of the implementation of simple automated tests using tools such as JMeter, Robot Framework, Selenium, or Python.
- Automate simple test cases to improve efficiency and test coverage.
- Regression Testing
- Conduct regression testing to detect and resolve any issues that arise during software development cycles.
- Ensure that new updates or changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
- Specification Analysis
- Review and analyze specifications for specific components to ensure alignment with test requirements.
- Identify any potential gaps or inconsistencies between specifications and test plans.
- Data Processing and Analysis
- Process and analyze data to support testing activities, identifying potential areas for improvement in software performance or functionality.
- Utilize data-driven insights to enhance testing strategies and approaches.
- Collaboration with Development Teams
- Work closely with the wider validation team and development teams to understand software requirements and contribute to the design and implementation of test cases.
- Provide feedback to developers on the testability of features and suggest improvements for specific components.
- Test Plan Creation and Maintenance
- Develop comprehensive test plans covering all aspects of edge and cloud-based applications and services.
- Maintain and update test plans to accommodate changes in software requirements or functionality.
- Technical Documentation
- Write clear and concise technical documentation to communicate test procedures, results, and any encountered issues.
- Ensure documentation is comprehensive and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Review test cases, bug reports and documentation created by fellow Quality Assurance Engineers.
- Operational Support
- Provide support and assistance to operational teams in troubleshooting and resolving more complex software-related issues.
- Collaborate with operational teams to address any software-related challenges promptly.
Collaborating With
- Everseen’s Engineering, DevOps, Product, Operations teams and customer’s technical teams.
Profile and Skills
- 2-3+ years of work experience in a relevant role and global SaaS company.
- Strong experience in test automation (Python, Java, or similar)
- Hands-on testing of backend APIs, microservices, and small web interfaces
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, Gatling)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test integration
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and quality
- Ability to create simple and execute complex automated test scripts to ensure efficient and thorough testing of software applications.
- Advanced debugging skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently during testing phases.
- Ability to work with Linux systems, including troubleshooting skills such as log investigations, performance testing, and connectivity investigation.
- Advanced familiarity with advanced concepts like microservices and distributed systems, indicating an understanding of modern software development architectures.
- Intermediate understanding of Azure Kubernetes Services for container orchestration, Azure Blob Storage for data storage, and ElasticSearch for search and analytics.
- Ability to leverage cloud computing technologies and services for testing and validation purposes.
- Intermediate knowledge of cloud security, scalability, and performance optimization principles.
- Intermediate understanding of cloud computing technologies and services, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS).
- Intermediate understanding of the software engineering and architecture space, including knowledge of various programming languages, frameworks, techniques, and industry trends in AI.
