The Role
 
As a Level 1 Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance with Linux-based systems. You will work closely with the Tech Support team to ensure the smooth operation of Linux servers and assist in resolving technical issues.
 
Main Responsibilities 
 
·         Provide first-level technical support to end-users and assist them with Linux-related issues, including user account management, password resets, and desktop support.
·         Monitor the performance and health of Linux servers, identifying and addressing potential issues or anomalies.
·         Diagnose/resolve and Escalate Linux system problems, such as network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software errors.
·         Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based software applications.
·         Basic Knowledge of the ticketing tools such as Jira, Service now.
·         Basic Knowledge of Monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
·         Perform massive stack restart/configuration changes as requested by band using tools like Ansible Tower, AWX and Virtual desktops.
·         Apply patches and updates to Linux servers as necessary to keep systems up to date and secure.
 
Collaborating With
 
·         Work collaboratively with Level 2 Linux Administrators to resolve more complex issues.
 
Profile and Skills
 
·         Bachelor's degree, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
·         Familiarity with Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
·         Basic understanding of Linux command-line tools and utilities.
