We are recruiting for our Lisbon Office where you'll be joining a growing team of nearly 200 people. Consultants based in Lisbon will support clients globally with the opportunity for international travel. Our consultants provide flexible support to clients whether it is a rapid assessment, short term savings realisation or embedding in a long-term partnership to deliver lasting and measurable value to clients.

You will be responsible for overseeing the organization's financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. 

Your position would involve strategic management of reporting activities and collaboration with stakeholders to drive transparency and accuracy in financial disclosures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Month end: Preparation of all month end related journal entries in line with the month end calendar including reconciliation of key accounts.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, ensure proper account reconciliations, and monitor journal entries.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Preparation and first line review of all balance sheet reconciliation on a monthly basis to auditable standards.

  • Controls: Ensure adherence to all key finance and process controls.

  • Audit Support: Interna and external audit support, providing necessary documentation and responses to auditors.

  • Cost Analysis and Insights: Prepare first line management accounts commentary insights into cost movements.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Collaboration with AP/AR activities, ensuring timely month end subledger cutoffs.

  • Intercompany: Maintain the intercompany ledgers ensuring monthly reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
  • Strong excel skills
Nice to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant accounting certifications
