Efficio is seeking an Interim Finance Transformation Manager to provide maternity cover within the Finance function, with a particular focus on Tax and Treasury.

This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover role, combining hands-on delivery with process improvement and stakeholder management. The role will be responsible for maintaining and improving ongoing tax compliance activities, while supporting the development of enhanced reporting, improved controls, and AI-enabled automation.

The role will also support the establishment of a more centralised Treasury function, working closely with the newly appointed Treasury Manager to define the future-state operating model, governance, policies, processes, and reporting requirements.

Core Responsabilities:

Tax compliance and PMO support

  • Act as PMO lead for ongoing tax compliance activity, helping to ensure that statutory and regulatory obligations are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Work closely with the Tax Manager to maintain continuity, visibility, and control across core tax compliance processes while transformation initiatives are underway.
  • Support the design and implementation of improved tax reporting processes, including opportunities to automate recurring outputs and apply AI-enabled solutions where appropriate.
  • Track progress, risks, dependencies, and actions across tax compliance workstreams, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.

Advisory and stakeholder management

  • Liaise with external tax advisors, including PwC, and internal stakeholders to support the assessment and resolution of ad hoc or non-routine tax matters.
  • Prepare clear background papers, options analyses, and recommendations for senior Finance stakeholders on emerging or complex tax issues.
  • Coordinate input from internal Finance teams and external advisors to support consistent messaging, robust decision-making, and effective delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships across Finance and with external partners to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and outcomes.

Treasury transformation

  • Partner with the Treasury Manager to support the design and implementation of a centralised Treasury function.
  • Support the development of treasury policies, governance frameworks, operating models, controls, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in mapping current-state treasury activities, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities, and defining future-state processes.
  • Help ensure that treasury transformation activity is delivered in a practical, controlled, and sustainable way.

Process improvement and change delivery

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and automate Finance processes across tax and treasury activities.
  • Support the documentation and embedding of new processes, controls, tools, and ways of working into ongoing Finance operations.
  • Provide hands-on delivery support to ensure transformation initiatives progress alongside day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Support change management activity, ensuring stakeholders understand new processes and that benefits are clearly communicated and realised.

Skills and experience:

  • Strong experience in Finance transformation, ideally with exposure to tax compliance, treasury, or Finance operations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex workstreams, coordinate stakeholders, and drive delivery in a hands-on interim or project-based environment.
  • Experience working with external advisors and preparing clear, concise materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of process improvement, controls, governance, and operating model design.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, building structure, and moving quickly between strategic design and practical delivery.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
