Forward Deployed Engineer (London)
The Role
When a high-value enterprise creator is about to sign with Easol, or has just signed, they need someone who understands how their business runs day to day and can make Easol work for it. That’s you.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll work on complex enterprise deals, giving Sales the technical depth needed to close, then working with the creator through implementation until they’re live and self-sufficient. Most of your time is spent with creators: running discovery with their operations teams, understanding their existing systems, designing how Easol fits, and keeping any delivery on track across agency partners and our engineering team. Think part product expert, part delivery lead, part trusted advisor, with enough engineering to build what’s needed.
You won’t be coding day to day, but you should be able to. You’ll build some apps and integrations on Easol’s open API yourself, and scope others for our engineers or agency partners. The problems are rarely the same twice, so you’ll need to learn fast and stay close to the product.
You’ll travel to creator offices and venues, usually for one to two weeks at a time: a few days on site for kickoff, then follow-up visits as the project moves through its phases. Some trips may be booked at short notice.
You’ll report to our Director of Solutions and work closely with Customer Success, Product, Engineering and Sales.
What You'll Do
Support Pre-Sales
-
Partner with Sales on complex deals where technical depth is needed to win: joining discovery calls, scoping requirements and helping build the commercial case for Easol.
-
Run technical discovery with prospects to surface complex requirements, assess platform fit and identify integration needs early, so there are no surprises after signature.
-
Design and deliver solution narratives and product demonstrations tailored to a prospect’s operational setup and commercial goals.
Lead Enterprise Implementations
-
Own end-to-end technical delivery for enterprise creators after they sign, from scoping through to go-live.
-
Run discovery with creator teams to map their existing systems and define how they integrate with Easol.
-
Build and configure integrations and workflows on Easol’s open API and app framework, and scope larger pieces of work for agency partners or our engineering team.
-
Coordinate delivery across agency partners and internal engineering, managing scope, quality and timelines.
-
Work with Easol’s engineering team to extend the API where enterprise needs go beyond existing endpoints.
-
Spend time on site with creator teams at the key points of a project, such as kickoff, build reviews and go-live.
-
Hand over to Customer Success once creators are live and self-sufficient, with clear documentation of what was built and how it works.
Be the Platform Expert
-
Build and maintain deep knowledge of Easol’s platform: its capabilities, configuration options, integration points and roadmap. You’re the person who knows what the platform can and can’t do.
-
Feed structured insights from prospects and creators back to Product: recurring pain points, unmet needs and integration patterns that should become standard features.
-
Spot commercial opportunities within accounts, such as revenue optimisation, conversion uplift and operational efficiency, and raise them with the wider team.
Between Projects
-
Provide technical input and solution design for enterprise RFPs.
-
Write documentation and playbooks that help Customer Success and Sales answer technical questions without escalating them.
-
Test new features with Product before they reach creators, and feed back what you find.
What We're Looking For
Essential
-
Experience in a client-facing technical role at a B2B SaaS company (solutions engineering, solutions consulting, implementation or forward deployed engineering), including owning a complex delivery end to end with a customer team.
-
You’ve run discovery with non-technical teams and turned what you heard into a scoped plan.
-
Comfortable with web platforms, frontend code, REST APIs, webhooks and authentication, and able to build and test an integration yourself.
-
You adjust your language to the room, and can explain to non-technical stakeholders how technical decisions affect revenue and growth.
-
Happy to travel regularly, sometimes at short notice.
Nice to Have
-
Experience in travel, hospitality, events, ticketing or commerce.
-
Experience managing delivery through agency partners or contractors.
-
Experience supporting enterprise pre-sales or RFP responses.
-
Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. GA4) and CRM and marketing integrations (e.g. Klaviyo).
-
Comfort with Git, deployment workflows and working in a shared codebase with an engineering team.
-
Experience using AI and automation tools to speed up delivery.
Mindset
-
Curiosity about how businesses operate. You take pride in knowing a platform inside out and being the person others turn to for a definitive answer.
-
Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity. This role changes shape with the pipeline, and you need to prioritise and context-switch with confidence.
