Reports to : Guest Service Manager

Responsibilities:
·         Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit written and digital materials, including newsletters, announcements, menus, promotional materials, and other ship publications. Ensure proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language usage. Verify accuracy of facts, figures, and details;
·       Content Development: Contribute to the development of ship printed materials, by providing suggestions for improving content, language flow, and overall readability. Ensure the content aligns with the ship's brand, objectives, and target audience;
·       Language Quality: Maintain the quality and consistency of the Arabic and English language used in ship materials. Ensure adherence to ship-specific language guidelines and style standards. Strive for clarity, precision, and appropriate tone in all written communications;
·         Translation Review: Review and edit translated materials, ensuring accuracy, linguistic coherence, and adherence to ship guidelines. Provide feedback and guidance to improve translation quality;
·       Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various ship departments, such as guest services, and onboard entertainment, to gather information and ensure consistency in messaging and language usage across different channels;
·       Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing department in order to ensure timely delivery of edited materials. Provide feedback, suggestions, and guidance to enhance the overall quality of ship communications;
·       Document Control: Maintain a centralized repository of ship documents and publications, organizing and archiving materials for easy retrieval and reference. Ensure version control and accuracy of information;
·       Style and Brand Compliance: Ensure all ship materials adhere to established style guides, brand guidelines, and legal requirements;
·       Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough proofreading and quality checks to identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and formatting issues. Ensure the final materials meet high-quality standards and reflect the ship's image and professionalism;
·       Professional Development: Stay abreast of language and editing trends, tools, and best practices. Seek opportunities for professional growth and improvement, such as attending workshops or training sessions;
·       Safety and Security: Adhere to ship safety protocols and emergency procedures within the front office department. Monitor security measures and promptly report any incidents or concerns.

Profile:
·       Previous experience in an Editor role, preferably in a luxury ship and/ or luxury hotel setting;
·       Proficiency in Arabic and English is essential, with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
·       High knowledge of Arabic language styles, guides and conventions;
·       Proficiency in graphic design software’s, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other industry-standard tools;
·       Strong editorial skills, with proven experience in editing and/or proofreading capabilities, preferable in a publishing, media or communications setting;
·       Ability to maintain consistency and accuracy with strong attention to detail in written material, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language usage;
·       Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
·         Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment, including weekends and holidays;
·       Understanding of shipboard safety and security protocols and the ability to ensure compliance.
