Executive Housekeeper:
Reports to: Hotel Director
Job Description:
·To oversee and maintain efficient Housekeeping operations in a daily basis including cleaning procedures and maintenance in guest areas and back of the house areas.
·Ensures timekeeping records for the department are accurately maintained and monitored.
·To train, coach, counsel and support the Housekeeping department staff.
·To guide the Assistant Housekeepers, Housekeeping Supervisors, Laundry Master and Housekeeping Secretary to ensure that the entire Housekeeping Department is updated with relevant shipboard information at all times.
·To conducts regular inspection of guest rooms, passageways, public and crew areas to ensure that standards are maintained.
·To ensure that the Assistant Housekeepers and Housekeeping Supervisors follow up on inspections as per policy.
·To monitor and develop the Work schedules, Section Plans and to conduct Performance Appraisals for the Housekeeping Department Staff.
·To review Job Applications and to interview and recommend suitable applicants accordingly.
·To coordinate the execution of necessary Maintenance issues in conjunction with the Maintenance departments.
·To ensure that any Maintenance issues in Guest areas are reported in a timely manner and that the work orders are followed up on accordingly.
·To order, receive and monitor all guest and crew linens on board.
·To monitor and control the inventory of all Housekeeping Lockers and pantries in conjunction with the Assistant Housekeepers and Housekeeping Supervisors.
·To execute all aspects of planning and organizing of upcoming cruises for the Housekeeping Department.
· Offers all possible assistance to guests and takes corrective action on suggestions/ complaints and strives for early guest recovery and ensure follow up is completed on a timely manner.
· Counsels crewmembers where and when necessary, properly documenting the event.
· Conducts regular meetings or briefings with housekeeping management and other personnel.
· Familiar with all policies and procedures established by the company and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
· To adhere to, and to ensure that the Housekeeping Department Staff adheres to all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned but not limited to the above.
. Previous cruise ship experience is a requirement, preferably in other cruise vessels of similar size (15000 GT/3400 pax) .
