POSITION SUMMARY

Cruise Staff is in an integral part Cruise Department, focused on delivering a vibrant and "Remarkably Arabian" experience. This role involves supporting the Assistant Cruise Director and Cruise Director in the delivery of the Entertainment product to our Guests inside the ship by interacting, socializing, and hosting and participating in entertainment and edutainment activities.

The Cruise Staff must excel in conflict resolution, counselling, mediating and motivational skills, and guest service while maintaining a collaborative and positive team environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expertise in Entertainment Delivery: Demonstrates the ability to host and deliver scheduled daily Entertainment, Live Music, and Edutainment program, ensuring a positively, vibrant and culturally immersive guest experience. Using their

personality, talents and language ability to engage audiences of all ages. Is expected to be proactive and creative in relation to programming to maintain and/or increase guest satisfaction. Must be able to provide quality service and be able to enhance the experience for guests onboard.

  • Revenue Promotion: Identifies and promotes all revenue centers onboard in an
    organic and genuine manner, tailored to the expectations of Arabian travelers.
  • Guest Engagement: Builds relationships with guests through hosting and supporting various events. Partners with The Shore Excursions Team to escort guests on tours during port calls, enhancing guest engagement.
  • Communication: Maintains ongoing communication with Assistant Cruise Director and fellow team members to ensure alignment and address any needs or concerns. Ensures any feedback or ‘guest complaints’ are directed to the right areas for positive and efficient resolution.
  • Grooming Standards Compliance: Always adheres to grooming standards in alignment with brand expectations and guidelines.
 
  • Safety and Compliance: Responsible for performing Safety, Environmental, and Emergency Response duties as assigned, in accordance with Aroya Cruises' protocols.
  • Equipment Management: Be responsible for all equipment used to perform the role and report to Assistant Cruise Director any equipment malfunctions or problems.
  • Time Management: Pre-planning set-up of activities and effectivelypractice proper time management to prepare, execute and break down set ups and venues for assigned activities and events.
  • Guest Socialising: Attends door greets, welcomes guests entering and exiting the theatre for evening shows and events and socializes with the guests.
  • Embarkation/Disembarkation: Supports with guest flow, crowd control and general assistance of the Hotel Department to ensure the guests receive a ‘remarkably Arabian’ welcome and farewell.
  • Additional Duties: The Cruise Staff will carry out any other duty which may be reasonably requested by the Assistant Cruise Director or Cruise Director

SKILLS

  • Demonstrates strong command of both verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is desired.
  • Capable of addressing issues effectively and developing appropriate solutions.
  • Exhibits strong customer service skills

  • Outgoing, Proactive and Team Player.
  • Able to communicate and socialize well with peers and guests.
