The 1st electrical officer serves as the deputy Chief Electrician and is accountable for maintaining and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and installations onboard. The 1st electrical officer is accountable to the Chief Electrician.

Responsibilities of the 1st electrical officer include:

1. Familiarize with the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Electrician.

2. Perform maintenance, repair and manage spares for various electrical equipment, including machinery, system, measuring equipment, and auxiliary engines.

3. Utilize AMOS system for equipment maintenance (PMS) and spared ordering (procurement).

4. Ensure no modifications or projects are carried out without consent from the Chief Electrician and Chief Engineer.

5. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, manuals, and directives consistently.
