Responsibilities of the Scrubber Engineer include:
 
-          Review and scrutinize all scrubber documentation for installation and commissioning.
-          Point contact for scrubber installation and commissioning team and guide them for all the necessary support.
-          Work closely with the scrubber installation team and do daily reporting.
-          Maintain and operated scrubbers and associated equipment as required by the Manual Makers and/or PMS work descriptions
and/or as direct orders given by the Chief Engineer and/or Staff Engineer;
-          Train and inform ECR watch keepers for the scrubber operation and required monitoring.
-          Develop and maintain log data required for the scrubber.  
-          Closely monitor the scrubber operations and associated machinery; further raise any warranty claims if required.
-          Monitor the effects and performance of the d/g , economizer ; turbo charger together with First Engineer and Staff Chief Engineer. Any concerns to be addressed to Chief Engineer immediately.  
-          Ensure that the scrubbers are well maintained for optimum performance and spare parts consumption;
-          Report to the Chief Engineer and/or Staff Engineer about any breakdown, failure, accidents, near misses or deviations from operational routines and recommendation for improvements, which have a bearing on safety, security and environmental protection. This includes corrective measures for health and hygiene implementation;
-          Check stock of scrubbers and associated equipment spare parts to ensure minimum requirements is kept at all times;
-          Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports according to Company regulation and MARPOL convention;
-          Advice and/or trained Watch Engineers, how to implement ‘troubleshooting’ procedures regarding to exhaust gas cleaning system, during carry out their routine daily duties;
-          To supervise and guide those crewmembers who are working with him/her;
-          The Exhaust Gas Cleaning System Engineer will work closely with the First Engineer when scheduling maintenance works on the equipment assigned and/or if additional manpower is needed.

Position Requirements

    • 2nd Engineer License unlimited
    • Experience on board operating cruise vessels in equivalent rank
    • Good command in English
    • Certificates according to STCW
