INTERNATIONAL HOST-HOSTESS/TURKISH AND/OR RUSSIAN-ARABIC SPEAKING
The International Host (Turkish Speaker) acts as a crucial liaison between Turkish-speaking guests and groups, and the ship’s hotel departments, ensuring a smooth, personalized, and memorable cruise experience. This role provides language assistance and translation services, facilitates communication, and supports guest engagement by hosting events and delivering informative talks and briefings. The International Host actively promotes onboard products and services to enhance guest satisfaction and drive onboard revenue. Working collaboratively with other Guest Services roles, and the Shore Excursions, Marketing, and other hotel departments, this position plays a key role in delivering personalized service tailored to the needs of Turkish-speaking guests and groups aboard Cruises.
Main Responsibilities
Provide translation, language support, and personalized assistance to ensure a seamless onboard experience for Turkish speaking guests.
Deliver outstanding customer service to enhance the overall cruise experience for guests and groups.
Staff the language assistance desk, offering general cruise information, resolving inquiries, and supporting guests throughout their journey.
Translate essential ship documents—including the Daily Planner, menus, letters, and onboard materials—to facilitate clear communication.
Make announcements over the PA system in Turkish as directed by Hotel Management, ensuring important information is accessible.
Lead and participate in informational sessions such as welcome and disembarkation briefings, port talks, and shore excursion presentations.
Conduct guided tours of the ship, including behind-the-scenes experiences, to enhance guest engagement and familiarity with onboard facilities.
Provide translation and informational support at onboard events and activities, ensuring full participation and enjoyment.
Support shore excursion sales and other revenue initiatives by actively promoting onboard products, services, and activities.
Serve as the primary contact for group leaders, addressing inquiries, coordinating special requests, and ensuring group needs are met efficiently.
Collaborate with other ship departments (e.g., Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Entertainment) to deliver appropriate language assistance and exceptional service.
Assist with pre-cruise planning for groups, including event coordination and logistical arrangements to ensure smooth operations.
Facilitate pre-arrival preparations by organizing events and coordinating necessary arrangements for individual guests or groups.
Record and address guest concerns using the Otalio Service Requests system, proactively responding to feedback to continuously improve service delivery.
Ensure compliance with all company standards, policies, and procedures onboard.
Support other areas of Hotel Operations as directed by Hotel Management, contributing to exceptional guest service delivery.
Skills Requirements
A minimum of two years’ experience in guest services, group coordination, translation, shore excursions, event planning, or a similar role is required; prior experience in a cruise or hospitality environment is preferred.
Spoken and written fluency in Turkish, with proven experience translating from English to Turkish, is required.
Knowledge of Russian and Arabic is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a multicultural, high-pressure setting.
Proficiency in computer systems and digital tools; familiarity with Otalio PMS, GobySpark, and other cruise software is preferred.
Documentation Requirements
Valid Passport and Visas: As required.
STCW Certification: Or willingness to obtain.
Valid Medical Certificates: Current and up to date.
