Commercial Contracts Manager
Cirrus Logic has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic commercial contracts manager to join its legal team in Edinburgh, UK. As part of the Cirrus Logic Legal Team, you will work with cross-functional teams located primarily in Edinburgh, and in Austin, Texas, supporting the creation and sale of products that make Cirrus Logic the number one choice in signal processing. Working as part of an international team, and supporting a truly global business, you will be drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad variety of contracts and technology licenses across all aspects of the Cirrus Logic business.
Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on commercial and technology contracts, supporting strategic supplier and services arrangements, managing contractual risk, and providing guidance on areas such as data protection, AI, and intellectual property licensing.
- The provision of commercial input on contract related issues material to the business, and assisting other legal team members with transactional matters.
- Developing and enhancing Cirrus Logic’s use of AI in relation to contract review and management.
- Maintaining and developing our in-house contract management system, and approach, including the development and use of metrics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent academic credentials and either: (a) extensive experience as a commercial contracts paralegal or contracts manager or (b) prior experience as a contracts solicitor in private practice or in an in-house role.
- Strong experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Experience using AI tools in the context of contract review and analysis.
- Prior exposure to technology/IT contracts, SaaS and software licensing, IP licensing, and services and supplier contracts.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong client-service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, in different business units, and in multiple time zones.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Proven experience in stakeholder management.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts that relate to, or involve, the processing of personal data, and an understanding of data protection law in the context of licensing and services contracts.
- Experience creating AI agents and/or developing automated contract skills/workflows.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, basic aspects of electronics and semiconductors. An interest in technology, innovation, AI and emerging legal issues.
This position is based in our Edinburgh office, UK.
