We have a fantastic opportunity for a PCB Designer to join our team based in our Austin facility. You will be working with a diverse range of cross functional groups in a truly global environment, with exceptional benefits available in return. In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to receive design specifications and complete designs primarily for Applications, Validation, Reliability and ATE PCB requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and layout of multi‑layer printed circuit boards under the guidance of senior PCB designers.
- Assist in translating schematics and design requirements into manufacturable PCB layouts.
- Perform basic routing tasks, including controlled‑impedance traces, differential pairs, and simple length matching following established design guidelines.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) guidelines with mentoring and review support.
- Generate PCB fabrication and assembly outputs such as Gerber files, ODB++, and basic drawings.
- Participate in internal design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve layout quality.
- Collaborate with hardware, applications, validation, and mechanical engineering teams to support overall project goals.
- Maintain design documentation and follow internal PCB design standards and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- AAS Degree or 2‑year technical degree or equivalent education in electronics, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Entry‑level experience or internship/co‑op experience in PCB layout or electronics design.
- Exposure to industry‑standard ECAD tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or Siemens/Mentor Graphics.
- Basic understanding of PCB fundamentals, including- multi-layer stack-ups, common via types, mixed-signal layout concepts.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and general DFM principles.
- Ability to follow established processes and work from defined design specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn through feedback and mentoring.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Internship, academic, or project experience with PCB fabrication or assembly workflows.
- Introductory exposure to: HDI concepts, Fine‑pitch components such as QFNs or WLCSPs
- Familiarity with ATE, evaluation boards, or hardware used for validation or reliability testing is a plus but not required.
- Interest in learning automation or AI‑assisted tools to improve design efficiency over time.
