System Evaluation Engineer (DR-363)

We have a great opportunity for a talented senior-level System Evaluation Engineer to join our growing evaluation team. You will have the opportunity to work in the development team evaluating our industry-leading mixed-signal ASICs, prototyped on an FPGA, and doing Proof-of-Concept investigations. This role is based in either our Edinburgh or Newbury office.

Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the ASIC product development and test process
    • Interpret requirements into test plans in order to identify architectural improvements and bugs
    • Demonstrate the ability to test and analyse different blocks on the ASIC, through to testing the ASIC in the system
    • Contribute to product definition, prototype evaluation, test development & product release to ensure that the ASIC meets the customers’ requirements
    • Participate in project meetings and reviews

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree (and/or equivalent) and background in Electronics Engineering
    • Experience working in the semiconductor industry a definite plus
    • Experience with hands-on bench testing and debugging of hardware
    • Experience in Python scripting
    • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
    • An innovative, creative, lateral and logical-thinking problem solver
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret results
    • Able to work to tight and variable time scales
    • Strong ability to relay complex information and collaborate with diverse teams using high-level communication skills
    • Experience with PCB schematic designs and layout reviews is a positive
This role is based in either our Edinburgh office or Newbury office in the United Kingdom. 

This is a hybrid position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic
