Cirrus Logic are recruiting for a Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist that will help ensure a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible, workplace. This role is focused on site related EHS problem-solving, monitoring of lab activities, environmental practices, and driving consistent, high-quality EHS execution across site activities.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this exciting opportunity, supports the Global EHS Manager, and serves as a technical professional for ergonomics, electrical safety, COSHH, and lab-based risk management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead complex EHS inspections, walkthroughs, and risk reviews
- Independently assess higher-risk activities and recommend proportionate controls
- Provide technical input into incident and near-miss investigations
- Ensure corrective actions are robust, practical, and effectively closed
- Act as site technical resource for electrical safety in laboratories and test areas
- Lead development and review of task-based COSHH assessments
- Review of contractor arrangements and waste practices
- Lead and support audits and inspections related to waste, environmental compliance, and ISO 14001 among others
- Support development and delivery of advanced EHS training
- Identify trends and opportunities for continuous EHS improvement
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or EHS related field
- Demonstrable experience of site/lab EHS requirements and reporting
- Strong working knowledge of COSHH and UK health & safety legislation including ergonomics and fire safety legislation
- Demonstrated experience supporting electrical or technical work environments
- Significant experience in an EHS / H&S role within high-tech, engineering, manufacturing, or laboratory environments
- Knowledgeable understanding of required environmental reports e.g. ESOS, UK SECR
- ISO 14001 experience. Provide support for the company’s Sustainability efforts
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work autonomously and provide technical EHS guidance
- Extensive knowledge and experience in using various computer-related software platforms
- Strong communication, coaching, and documentation skills
- Ability to travel within UK
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or higher qualification
- IOSH membership (TechIOSH / CertIOSH or above)
- ISO 9001 knowledge
- Technically confident and credible in lab and engineering environments
This is an onsite position that, with time, might offer a degree of flexibility to allow occasional working from home. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
