Senior Product Test Engineering Technician - 2nd Shift
We are hiring a Senior Product Test Engineering Technician to play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and efficiency of advanced semiconductor test operations in a fast-paced production and NPI environment. This position combines deep technical expertise in automated test equipment with strong problem-solving and hands-on troubleshooting skills to support complex electro-mechanical systems. As a technician, you will partner closely with engineering, vendors, and cross-functional teams to maintain equipment uptime, drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices, and enable high-quality IC testing.
This position is available for the 2nd shift rotation, with primary working hours Tuesday - Saturday 1:00 - 9:30PM. Saturday start time is flexible, no earlier than 9:00AM.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and advanced, system‑level troubleshooting across a wide range of semiconductor test equipment, including Teradyne ATE platforms, National Instruments STS testers, Accretech probers, temperature forcing systems, and automated IC handlers.
- Maintain accurate inventories of spare parts, tooling, and consumables; proactively manage reorders to ensure equipment uptime.
- Interface directly with automated test equipment vendors to schedule service, request technical support, order replacement parts, and obtain quotations.
- Partner with Mechanical Engineers to support the design, validation, and deployment of test fixtures that meet lab, NPI, and production requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve preventative maintenance procedures, SOPs, and training documentation to ensure consistent equipment operation and knowledge transfer.
- Provide mentorship and hands‑on training to technicians and engineers at varying experience levels.
- Support preventative maintenance activities during off‑hours or weekends as required to meet production schedules.
- Set up, operate, and test integrated circuit (IC) devices using automated handlers as well as manual (hand) test methods.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- 7+ years of experience supporting semiconductor automated test equipment in a production or NPI environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electro‑mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with laboratory and bench equipment, including oscilloscopes and power supplies.
- Proven experience creating and maintaining technical documentation such as PM procedures, SOPs, and One Point Lessons.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of equipment reliability.
Core Skills and Capabilities
- Ability to solder, including complex or fine‑pitch soldering, or demonstrated ability to quickly master advanced soldering techniques.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical issues and corrective actions to both technical and non‑technical personnel.
- Patience and effectiveness in training and mentoring technicians and junior engineers.
- Flexibility to support maintenance activities outside of standard business hours when required.

- Regular Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Training Schedule
- Initial Training Period: Approximately 3–6 months
- Training Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
