About the role:
CQC is growing globally in the US, UK, EMEA and APAC.  Our Japan team, based in Tokyo, will scale significantly in 2021 with a number of  new positions created to support the region in both our client facing and scientific Quantum Software development teams. There is significant interest in quantum technologies in Japan. CQC has established relationships in Japan with Nippon Steel and JSR, as well as globally with Total, Roche and many others. In Japan, CQC has already fostered associations with the key quantum hubs in Industrial, Chemical, Pharmaceuticals/Life Sciences, Financial Services verticals and has close connections with leading Universities. Our work is focussed on long-term and meaningful research collaborations, to bring about the most impactful application of emerging quantum computing technology to the industry.
Role description
This role supports Business Development and Product Development activity, focusing on CQ cutting edge and emerging products relating to QML. In this client-facing role you will be responsible for selecting and developing relationships with some of the world’s leading global companies. You will identify the challenges clients are facing, educate on CQ  technologies, and communicate the value proposition of our QML products and services.  You will also play a pivotal role in developing products. Through regular market and competitor analysis, you will help steer our scientists on areas of application and new features, capabilities and use cases that will enhance our offering.
You will be joining a team of enthusiastic science and tech professionals that are using quantum algorithms to crack some of the most pressing industrial problems of our clients, that are leading worldwide companies in Finance, Life Sciences, Energy, Transportation, to name a few. This role will offer the successful candidate plenty of growth opportunities both professionally and in terms of technical skills particularly in areas such as product development, research and algorithms.

Key Requirements:

    • MSc in a relevant STEM subject (Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Quantum Physics, Maths, Computer Science)関連するSTEM分野(機械学習、量子コンピューティング、量子物理学、数学、コンピューターサイエンス)の修士号以上
    • Relevant Commercial sales / business development experience営業、事業開発分野での経験があること
    • Or a Ph.D. research background, with the willingness to develop into a business development position.  もしくは、研究者として博士号を修了し、かつ今後事業開発のポジションにおいて成長し続ける意欲があること
    • Experience in data science products or services, with a particular interest in one of the following:  material informatics, financial services, automation of internal processes, optimisation, operational research or life sciences.
    • データサイエンス製品やサービスに関する経験があり、特にマテリアルインフォマティクス、金融サービス、内部プロセスの自動化、最適化、オペレーションズリサーチ、ライフサイエンスなどに関心があること
    • Familiarity with quantum algorithms and machine learning or optimization techniques and demonstrate a passion to stay up-to-date with the most important QML scientific & technical literature量子アルゴリズムと機械学習、もしくは最適化手法に精通し、QMLに関する文献を読み、日々情報収集が出来ること
    • Exceptional soft skills and the ability to interact with clients and internal scientific teams優れたソフトスキルと、クライアントや社内の研究員チームと円滑にコミュニケーションが取れる能力があること
    • Good English speaking ability to converse with global teamsグローバルチームと会話することが出来る英語力があること

Desirable experience:

    • Familiarity with implementation of quantum software on near-term quantum hardware
    • Experience in scientific software development in an academic or industrial environment
