The Chief Operating Officer will partner closely with the CEO and other members of the senior leadership team to develop the internal capabilities to successfully deliver on ambitious commercial growth plans. This will require an operational leader capable of establishing structure and process that will enable Biofidelity to accelerate over the coming years. 
 
 This is a unique role, which will manage the global operations function as well as having oversight of the product and technology development team within Biofidelity.
 
The role will act as site head for the North Carolina site and will have overall responsibility for the business Operations, Software & IT, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality and Compliance. From an Operations perspective you will oversee and optimize the company globally, working closely with a cross functional team of exceptional professionals to drive scientific discoveries and aiding in the continued commercialization of products.
 
Key responsibilities:
●      Overall responsibility and ownership for internal operational functions ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of operations is measured and find ways of improving processes
●      Work with the leadership team in delivering Biofidelity’s Vision; translating the vision into operational strategies, plans and delivery
●      Work in partnership with other executives to ensure Biofidelity successfully achieves its objectives
●      Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO
●      Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability
●      Drive Product Development from concept to commercialisation by coordinating with internal teams.
●      Communicate scientific achievements and strategic directions to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors
●      Lead the development and implementation of our scientific research strategy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
●      A real love for operations and driving efficiency through a scale-up organization
●      Previous experience managing high growth business units
●      Passionate about building diverse and high performing teams
●       A proven track-record in successful product development and commercialization is essential to this role.
●      Expertise in molecular biology, laboratory operations, bioinformatics and organizational development
●      Working knowledge of Quality Systems Regulations including ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, 21 CFR Part 11, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and GAMP5
●      Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
●      Exceptional data analytical skills
 
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 
●      Degree in science, medical or technical field
●      5+ years’ industry experience in molecular biology productization
●      Broad experience working with external partners
●      Past experience driving efficiency through a scale-up organization-depth knowledge of the Medical Diagnostics Industry
●      Fundraising experience (desirable)
