About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Engineer to create Android and iOS applications that enable seamless, real-time communication. The ideal candidate for this role will combine deep technical expertise with a genuine commitment to accessibility and user experience.



Responsibilities

    • Build Exceptional User Experiences: Own the user-facing features that make video interpretation seamless and delightful—from the moment a user initiates a call to how users manage their workflow. You'll translate designs into polished, accessible interfaces that work flawlessly on mobile devices.
    • Bridge Mobile UX to Backend Platform: Collaborate closely with platform engineers to integrate video capabilities, real-time communication features, and backend services into cohesive user experiences. You'll define clear API contracts, provide feedback on platform design, and ensure UI/UX needs shape backend architecture.
    • Champion Accessibility and Inclusive Design: Ensure every interface element works for all users—including those with varying levels of technical fluency and diverse accessibility needs.
    • Contribute to a Purpose-Driven, User-Centered Culture: You will need to understand the real-world impact of your interface decisions, advocate for users in technical discussions, and ensure your work connects to our broader mission of improving access and communication for the community

Requirements

    • Proven Mobile Engineering Skills: 5+ years of hands-on experience creating iOS and Android apps
    • Understanding of mobile app deployment App Store, Play Store
    • TypeScript/JavaScript and React proficiency
    • Experience with hybrid frameworks such as Capacitor or React Native
    • Familiarity with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java)for custom module development
    • Excellent Communication Skills: You can translate technical complexity into clear explanations, collaborate effectively with product and design partners, and write documentation that helps others succeed. You know how to push back constructively when engineering realities need to shape product decisions.
    • Mobile APIs for calling integration - Hands-on experience with CallKit (iOS) and Telecom(Android) is ideal
    • Video Communication Experience: Experience with WebRTC and real-time communication is also helpful
