Our legal team is growing, and we’re looking for a Privacy Counsel who will build the data privacy function and implement compliance practices directly into our products. In this role, you’ll work with a high level of autonomy, take part in strategic projects, and tackle complex legal challenges that directly impact the business and our users.
Here’s what this role offers:
- Lead the Privacy function and see firsthand how personal data flows through a product-driven IT business;
- Work in a multi-jurisdictional environment: US, EU, UK, LATAM, and other markets;
- Make an impact on product and business — from concept to execution;
- Continuously develop your expertise by keeping up with regulatory changes and pursuing international certifications (e.g., IAPP).
Your key responsibilities:
- Build compliance processes in line with data privacy laws and implement them across the company;
- Keep track of updates in legislation and case law in the field of personal data;
- Advise product, marketing, technical, and other teams on privacy compliance;
- Assess current and potential product functionality from a legal compliance perspective;
- Conduct DPIAs (Data Protection Impact Assessments);
- Coordinate the handling of user rights requests (deletion, access, data portability) in collaboration with the support team;
- Proactively work with teams to implement and monitor compliance processes.
Key requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant privacy experience in a top-tier law firm or an in-house legal team of an IT company;
- Practical experience implementing privacy practices in product-driven companies (IT or businesses with an online presence);
- Knowledge of GDPR and U.S. State privacy laws;
- High level of legal English proficiency and strong drafting skills.
