Position Summary
The Senior Associate for International Payroll and Accounting will play an integral role in managing the outsourced payroll process for several small Amicus affiliates and end-to-end accounting activities for its UK businesses, including preparation of monthly P&L reporting and balance sheets reconciliations, ensuring timely year-end closure and oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and assist with tax returns. This individual will serve as the primary contact to external auditors and support our internal Global finance Stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to:
· Gatekeeper of payroll data from HR to external payroll provider for several small affiliates to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time each month. This will include reviewing payslips to ensure that all changes requested are appropriately processed and the onward accounting journals are correct.
· Preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts for internal and external purposes
· Assist internal stakeholders with understanding costs within P&L reports
· Balance sheet reconciliations which include but not limited to maintaining fixed assets listing and depreciation; prepayments, lease and accruals schedules, reconciling AR balances to third party AR reports
· Monthly bank reconciliations to system subledgers to ensure no differences.
· Prepare quarterly P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis reports
· Provide accurate VAT reports and documentation for outsourced accounting service provider to complete and submit VAT returns
· Providing information for interim and year end audit to external auditors
· Year-end reporting - Ensure timely year-end closure and oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and assist with tax returns
· Support SOX audits by providing reconciliations and other documents as required.
· Working closely with the Global Controllership team on Management Reporting and external regulatory reporting
Requirements
Educational Requirements
· Qualified/Part qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
· Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Professional Work Experience Requirements
· 5+ years work experience in similar role ideally within a global organization
· Working knowledge of Oracle Netsuit or equivalent accounting system
· Ability to work independently and resolve issues in a timely manner
· Adept with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
