We are looking for a part-time or student Czech Language Engineer in Europe to create a Czech lexicon for our AI-powered platform. We are seeking an individual who enjoys analyzing language with an eye for detail. In this role, you’ll develop a Czech dictionary and analyze the inflected word forms generated by our platform using the dictionary you develop. You will also analyze word and sentence segmentation data generated by our platform and refine the segmentation.

This position is in your home office. Your work hours can be flexible provided sufficient overlap with core working hours in our Berlin and Tokyo offices and you can work 15+ hours a week. 

Some of What You’ll Do:

    • Help create a Czech dictionary with morphological information for a Natural Language Processing application
    • Analyze inflected forms generated by Acrolinx
    • Analyze word and sentence segmentation data generated by Acrolinx

Skills and Experiences you should have:

    • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Linguistics with a deep understanding of Czech Morphology and Syntax
    • A good understanding of Natural Language Processing or Computational Linguistics preferred
    • Native fluency in Czech with excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Near-native or professional fluency in English

These skills are not mandatory, but nice to have:

    • Knowledge in MMORPH or MULTEXT-East.
    • Knowledge in HPSG (head-driven phrase structure grammar)
    • Basic knowledge in Shell and one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl)
