Analytical Services Associate
Example Plan Shifts/Training Schedule:
- First 2 weeks: 8 hour shifts, M-F
- Next 1-2 months: 12 hour shifts, Friday-Sunday
Employees working a 36-hour weekly schedule (Friday through Sunday) will receive an additional 4 hours of compensation each week, providing enhanced earnings while maintaining a reduced work schedule.
Responsibilities

Perform basic sample preparation, labeling, and handling tasks under direct supervision.

Support routine analytical testing activities (e.g., running pre-set methods, recording results) as directed.

Assist with laboratory housekeeping, inventory checks, and instrument set-up/clean-down.

Maintain accurate, legible records in laboratory notebooks per GMP and good documentation practices.

Follow all safety, quality, and SOP requirements in daily laboratory activities.

Actively participate in training and onboarding activities to build technical competency.

Support senior team members with general laboratory tasks as needed.

Support GMP and stability testing activities under close supervision and only within documented training/qualification status.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field (in progress or completed); or equivalent laboratory experience.
- 2-5 years of laboratory experience; internship, co-op, or academic laboratory experience considered.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety and good documentation practices.
- HPLC/UPLC: Learns correct preparation of samples, standards, reagents, and mobile phases; assists with system setup and executes pre-approved sequences only after training and under supervision; learns basic system-suitability concepts.
- Platform proficiency: Foundational knowledge of assigned analytical platforms; performs basic laboratory and pre-set testing tasks under close supervision while completing structured training and qualification.
- CE/GE and GC: Learns basic instrument setup, sample preparation, capillary/gel/column handling as applicable, and execution of established methods under direct supervision.
- Empower and data integrity: Learns approved Empower or equivalent CDS workflows within limited role permissions; understands unique user credentials, attributable actions, contemporaneous recording, electronic signatures, audit trails, and prohibition of undocumented data manipulation.
- Compendial methods: Learns and performs basic trained compendial/physicochemical tasks under supervision, including solution preparation, instrument checks, observations, calculations, and documentation.
