Expana is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Market Reporter to join our Price Reporting & Editorial Team. With your advanced knowledge in Price Reporting Agencies or commodities and a strong grasp of the agrifood markets, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our market information coverage in seafood. Responsibilities
- Price Assessment: Evaluate and report on proprietary prices, expanding the number of companies benchmarking against Expana's assessments to enhance our position as a leading food-commodity PRA.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Publish market analysis, commentaries (including webinars and videos), and news relevant to the covered markets on both scheduled and ad hoc bases.
- Approval & Compliance: Review and approve market assessments from other reporters to ensure adherence to published methodologies and assist in annual IOSCO quality assurance audits.
- Networking & Contact Management: Develop and maintain a diverse network of buyers, sellers, traders, and brokers. Use various communication methods to ensure the accuracy and robustness of Expana’s price assessments.
- Mentoring: Guide and mentor less experienced staff to ensure effective and compliant market coverage.
- Content Creation: Generate and host webinars, videos, and podcasts on covered markets as per agreed schedules and as needed.
- Expertise: Act as the primary spokesperson for Expana in your area of coverage, demonstrating deep knowledge of commodity fundamentals, supply chains, and key market participants.
- Client Interaction: Address inquiries from contacts, clients, and the market, providing clear guidance and maintaining transparency in processes and judgments.
- IOSCO Accreditation: Ensure compliance with IOSCO standards by meeting Expana’s pricing and editorial requirements.
- Reputation Building: Share content and analysis on networking sites like LinkedIn to build and enhance personal and team reputation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree-level education.
- Business-level English is required; fluency in additional European languages is a plus.
- Advanced understanding of factors impacting physical commodity prices, including fundamentals analysis, report-writing, trade flows, and agrifood value chains.
- Highly numerate with strong attention to detail; proficient in MS Excel and complex data analysis.
- Resilience and perseverance through setbacks.
- Ability to coach and mentor newer market reporters.
- Ability to present complex topics clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Ability to travel as needed.
