In this role, you’ll become a key voice in our global analysis team, delivering insights that influence strategy, guide clients, and help us stay ahead in one of the world’s most dynamic commodity markets.
What You’ll Do
- Monitoring and analysing short‑ and long‑term production trends, supported by direct engagement with producers and occasional field visits.
- Tracking global and regional trade flows, stock levels, and consumption patterns.
- Maintaining and updating regional balance sheets for sugar and ethanol.
- Assessing agricultural and industrial indicators such as crop competitiveness, weather impacts, and cost‑of‑production trends.
- Producing detailed supply–demand forecasts at country, monthly, quarterly, and crop‑year levels.
- Developing yield projections, analysing physical differentials, and forecasting cross‑border trade.
- Staying on top of global sugar policies and market economics to contextualise regional developments.
- Delivering the Americas Sugar Market Outlook to internal stakeholders.
- Producing clear, comprehensive reports that translate complex market dynamics into actionable insights.
- Supporting the global team in shaping the broader sugar and ethanol market outlook.
- Engaging with onshore and offshore clients through calls, presentations, and discussions.
What You Bring
- Strong experience in sugar and ethanol market analysis.
- Background in commodities markets (advantageous but not essential).
- Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.
- A structured, analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Strong self‑management skills and the ability to operate independently.
- A proactive, curious approach to market monitoring and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft clear reports and present insights confidently.
